Cabalen Buffet Restaurant

I personally love to eat at buffet restaurant that offers different dishes that will surely satisfy my taste buds. I tried eating at Vikings Buffet and Dads Buffet. These two restaurant is known for its delicious food despite its high price. I was invited by a friend to try Cabalen Buffet Restaurant . So here’s my experience eating at Cabalen Buffet Restaurant.

About Cabalen

Cabalen is one of the pioneer Filipino buffet restaurants in the Philippines. The term “cabalen” means “fellow” or “kumpare” in Kapampangan. Cabalen started as a pasalubong store in 1974.  The first Cabalen branch opened in West Avenue in the 80s, and Cabalen first offered Asian cuisine alongside Filipino favorites at its Megamall branch nearly a decade later.

The Food

Cabalen is known for it’s good old fashioned Filipino food and delicacies. If you want to treat a balikbayan, here is a good restaurant that you should try!

The dishes we’re beautifully displayed and most of it are lined in a banana leaf. Some of the dishes that you should try are Sisig, Lechon Kawali and Lechon Paksiw. Their sisig has different varieties. Lechon Kawali will always be the Pinoy’s top on their favorite food because of it’s crispy pork skin.

They also offer dinuguan, kare kare and bangus in their restaurant. I personally loved the kare kare because of its tender tripe (tuwalya) which is the main topping of kare kare.

Of course, fruits and desserts is always present on a buffet restaurant. I saw watermelon, suman, siomai, halo halo, saging conyelo and marshmallows dipped on chocolate served in the table.
